Hypocrisy

This quote was published on the newspaper "The Dallas Morning News" in Dallas, Texas on Friday, July 8th, 2005. In the Article "Terror Attacks hit Britain" (page 20A)

In Glenagles, Mr. Bush sought to contrast the efforts of the G-8 leaders with the tactics of the Bombers.
"On the one hand, we got people here who are working to alleviate poverty and to help rid the world of the pandemic of AIDS and that are working on ways to have a clean environment," he said.
"And on the other hand, you've got people killing innocent people," he added "the contrast couldn't be clearer between the intentions and the hearts of those of us who care deeply about human rights and human liberty, and those who kill, those who've got such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks."

Some questions came to my mind after reading it.

• Does Mr. Bush have the right to proclaim himself to be so fond of human rights and human liberty? Why when Amnesty International said that there were many human rights being violated by the former Iraqi government the US strongly supported this statement? but instead, when Amnesty Interntional made a similar statement about the US and its Guantanamo Prison the US strongly scorned this organization?
• What does Mr. Bush think about those who have such greed in thier hearts that they would take the lives of innocent Iraqi people? After all isn't US the biggest oil consumer in the world? In 2004 wasn't Iraq among the first 15 top oil producers and exporters lists? What are all those rumors about the War Against Terrorism being rather an Oil War?
• Isn't intimidation the main aim of terrorism? Isn't that also what the US is trying to do in Iraq? Is this vicious circle ever going to end?

Both terrorism and war must be stopped! For the sake of every human being!
